There's a facebook virus / spyware that can cause your FaceBook to run slow, or show only white pages, or not load pages at all. To remove it, or to see if you have it:

  • Click on your 'application settings'
  • Click the dropdown box to show 'added to profile'
  • If you see one in there named "un named app" delete it (Click the X to the right) ... Its an internal spybot.

UPDATE:
It turns out this is a facebook bug, and someone decided to tell people it was malware to get people to delete it. Thus it's a hoax. What the un named app is, is the "Boxes" tab on your profile. If you removed it here's how to fix it, so you get it back again:

  • Go to your profile page, find any box on it
  • Click on the "pencil" in the upper right-hand corner of the box
  • Click "move to boxes tab"
  • The "Boxes" tab will be back with all your goodies in it just like before.
  • If you want the box you clicked on to get the "Boxes" tab back on your regular profile tab, just reverse the process just for that one box. (Choose "Move to wall tab")

By the way, the unnamed app will also show again in your application settings.
There is another possible Facebook malware however. For more on that, see this thread.

THANK YOU for showing me how to fix this! I've tried all the ways people are saying to do it and it hasn't worked for me. Your way worked perfect! I got my boxes tab back!

I can't believe people still fall for this bs. Now I can see why people write spyware, they must be earning an absolute fortune!

Re: FaceBook SpyBot (is this one another HOAX?)

I 'm seeing this a lot starting yesterday, is it a hoax, too??

UPDATE.... If you are having problems with your games being slow, go to your Settings - Privacy Settings and select Block Users. then type in "Automation Labs" in the box and hit the Block button ----- all these names come up that you have never seen before --- they can be getting your personal information. Do the same... with "Automation Lab" (singular). You have to block each person individually!!

Any advice??  Thanks!!

Re: Automation Labs

Yep, this is another hoax. There's no need to block those people. Even if they were not only unblocked, but also actually on your friend list, they wouldn't have any special control over your profile, and especially any apps or games you have installed. Smile

Yes this seems to be yet another hoax.  When you type "automation labs" in the box and those names come up all it is is people who are associated with "automation labs" on Facebook.  If you type your last name in there you should see a different list of people all with the same last name.   So basically all that's doing is pulling a list of people with something in common.  They don't have access to your account nor are they getting your information.
