Anyone notice you can't leave negative feedback on Ebay anymore? I just listed an item there about a week ago, some new user with 0 feedback outbids everyone, then never pays, so I email them telling them if they don't pay by a certain date and time I'll have to leave negative feedback and relist the item. Never heard back, so I go to leave negative feedback today and the option isn't there.
I think that's kind of lame since it doesn't give a full portrayal of a member to other sellers, and members.
i think you cant leave negative if you are the seller anymore. but you can add an addendum to the feedback you are ready left. i left a positive feedback for a buyer who paid quickly but ended up being a very inexperienced ebayer. so im going to put in a comment to "guide" others when dealing with that particular ebayer.
clicky here for ebay link on how to
i think you cant leave negative if you are the seller anymore.
Aha! So that's why. I still think that's a strange new rule though. I've gotten screwed alot as a seller on Ebay over the last couple of years. I put up some gift cards a few times, and got screwed completely out of the value of the card. They still got to get/use it, and I got zilch. And we're talking $50+ gift cards. No matter how much dealing with Ebay and Paypal I did, they didn't do squat, and I just ended up SOL. Now ya can't even leave negative feedback? Craziness.
i agree. there should be a way to at least warn others. and my hubby swears thateven in cases like yours that they will win should they open a case with ebay and paypal. as a seller youre almost predestined to get screwed.
I agree with your hubby. I did also get screwed as a buyer once too though. I thought I was getting a great deal on a big USB stick for dirt cheap, brand new, so I bought it, then it turned out the be a counterfeit, that was actually 1/4 the size advertised but messed with to make it appear bigger in Windows. When you'd try to copy files to it you get all kinds of problems.
So I reported it to Ebay, Paypal and the seller. Long story short, I was clearly in the right and I still lost out on the deal.
Why won't they let seller leave negative feedback? That make no sense to me.
?? good question. this is all it says on ebay.
You can also use My eBay to leave Feedback.
Buyers can leave a positive, neutral, or negative rating, plus detailed seller ratings. Sellers can leave a short comment and positive ratings only for their buyers. Find out more about how Feedback works.
from this link
You can leave negative feedback on Ebay in "code" if you're very careful what you write and how you write it:
I use this: **SELLERS BE aWARE - customer was fUN,TRUSTWORTHY, seller is fUN,HAPPY****
There's only complimentary comments in that sentence but my sentiments are clear to all future sellers.
oh, and it does give you a small amount of pleasure, because it really drives the lying A#$hole who left you unfair feedback crazy.
thats a good idea but it still doesnt reflect in their point/feedback score. you would have to read through everyones actual feedback. if they have a bunch it would be hard.
Well, looks like if someone doesn't pay you have to open a case against them, and if they don't reply or whatever, which mine didn't, after a certain length of time you close the case and you get a final value fee credit, and they "mark" it against their account. Here's what the page said once I closed my case.
"You will receive a final value fee credit and the unpaid item will be recorded on the buyer's account."
And it blocks them from leaving any feedback on your account in case they decide to act like an arse. Guess that's about the best ya can do. Although it gives future sellers absolutely zero forewarning, which I think is lame.
Probably not a big deal that they get an 'invisible' mark against their account. I have a feeling if they're behaving like that anyway, they don't care too much if their account gets shut down. They just sign up to a new one.

Really?? I don't have any items I need to leave feedback on but it looks like it still shows negative. This is mine and I see where you can see the negative feedback in the last month:
I also found this on ebay: All about Feedback policies
I agree that would suck. I've only run into one bad seller and that was after I purchased like 5 times from him at once. My son was into fencing (sword fighting not back yard fences) and I ordered out of a company from NY that was going under (I later found out). They sent me the wrong size jacket and we ordered the electric sword with the pistol grip and they sent the non-electric with the french grip. In the end it took a few months of fighting with paypal and the company never made the items right. I left the guy negative feedback and he tried to have it removed but it stuck. Good luck dogg I know how aggravating it is.
