Hi there, My name is Allan, and I'm a geek.
I've owned over 34 phones in 12 years. My first being a Mitsubishi G75 with "Fido" (now a part of Rogers in Canada.)
My first computer I used was a PET and Comm. 64.
The first PC I owned was a Packard Bell ... 386 at something like 33mhz and 4mb RAM, running Windows 3.11 For Workgroups.
I'm a Security Guard, licensed by the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services, Ontario (Canada), and a my religion I describe as thus: Christian, Protestant, Evangelical Missionary, Convention Baptist, Mildly Pentecostal.
Cheers!
Welcome to GD. I too started out on a Commodore 64, moved up to a 128, then on to a couple of old IBM's (with Windows 3.1), and the first pc I bought was a Packard Bell 150mhz, 16mb ram, and a 'giant' 2GB hard drive (which nowadays you can find bigger on a microsd card as big as your pinky nail). That thing cost me $3100!
Smartmom - you kept beggin' me to join, so I did. (j/k you only asked me 10 times, that's not begging haha )
STaRDoGG- My computer 'succession' was: Commodore 64 (and Pets in the same classroom!) -> ICON (A computer designed by an Ontario (Canada) company specifically for the Ministry of Education) -> IBM PS/2 (a 'ghost' machine, connected via Token Ring to a mainframe, it had 2mb RAM, and NO disk drive!) -> 486dx and on wards.
My current desktop is
Chenbro 639 SECC Case
Asus M4A78-EM Motherboard
Athlon 64X2 (Windsor)
3.5GB DDR2 RAM (I may upgrade sometime in the future... maybe not)
500GB Seagate Barracuda w/ 32mb CACHE
Nvidia 9400GT
HP DVD Lightscribe DVDRW
Acer X203w 20" and Panasonic Viera TC-32LX14 32" TV
Logitech Wave kb / LX7 mouse
HP Laserjet 1020 Printer (had since 2005, replaced the ORIGINAL 1/2 full toner in Dec. 09 - yeah, I rarely print!)
My laptop (that I won from Seagate/Asus) is the Asus G73JH-A3. If you want to hear the sexy details of that, I'll post 'em, or just search Google, and you'll be havin' to wipe the drool up soon. haha
