So the rumors are circling but it looks as if Apple will cut the exclusive ties with AT&T and open the iPhone to other carriers. When is this going to happen? Word has it there will be a announcement on Wednesday.

According to an inside source close to the going-ons involved in all of this, a new tablet of some sort may not be the only thing on deck for next Wednesday though. We have been led to believe by an inside source that AT&T will lose their iPhone exclusivity on the same day, though it's not yet clear what other carrier (or carriers) will be stepping in to also carry the phone. So if that is the case who would rethink getting a iPhone? Those who have iPhones who would think of jumping the AT&T ship to another carrier? There is still no word which other carriers will be offering the iPhone.
