With more free wifi hot spots popping up it only opens the door for some mischievous actions. Well I think this is the first case but in the UP there is a pub that is being fined £8,000 (about $13,183) because someone unlawfully downloaded copyrighted material. Now is this the first time this has happened? I'm guessing no and I'm sure that some how downloaded worse I hate to say.
So what are your thoughts on this one? Should the owner of the hot spot (be it the cafe owner or what not) be liable for what their customers download? If that is the case what about the ISP (internet service provider)? I mean they supply the internet to the hot spot.
In my opinion its kinda like if someone steals my car and then hits and kills someone should I be liable? It will be interesting to watch how this case is handled as it could open the door to possibly many more down the road.

Ok what are your thoughts here?
