According to a press release on Wednesday by iCall, Apple will now allow VoIP calls over cellular networks. This is a HUGE change from Apple's previous agreement with AT&T which only allowed VoIP communications over a WiFi connection.

So the rumors are circling but it looks as if Apple will cut the exclusive ties with AT&T and open the iPhone to other carriers. When is this going to happen? Word has it there will be a announcement on Wednesday.

alright, so before when i found out about this, i ignored it, just thinking it was a way to play mobsters on your iphone, but now i see thats its a good way to reap GF points, so i ask the question, is anyone willing to do this for me with a jailbroken iphone? * If didn't jailbreak with Blackra1n like in this thread and used PwnageTool then you want to use this method to unlock your iPhone.

Once you are done with the jailbreak, you can now unlock your iPhone running jailbroken firmware 3.1.2 by using blacksn0w RC1 from Cydia. To do this:

• Start “Cydia” on your iPhone.

If you have a restore file goto step 2

1. Download a restore file make sure it ends in .ispw there are alot out there that work ! Now if you ended up restoring to 2.x or anything lower than 3.1.2 you can hook up to iTunes after you restore and upgrade to 3.1.2

2. Launch iTunes and shift-click on the Restore button (option click for Mac users). Then browse to the restore file you downloaded or had saved and let iTunes do the rest.
