Pets are NOT a fashion accessory

OK its the beginning of summer and the kids are driving me crazy.  We have pets, pets are pets and are NOT fashion accessory's.  I know Paris Hilton might think different but come on, they are a freaking pet!  Let the dogs/cats be free, they have legs let them walk.  My one child (to remain nameless) thinks that not only is it fun but the pet loves it.  OK if the cat is screeching chances are the cat is either A.) wanting down B.) pissed C.) all of the above.  So at my house this past week you will here "OMG do you hear her she doesn't like it

I can not mourn....

I will give MJ credit for his music talents but I am sorry if I can not mourn his death.  See I have seen in person the ugly affect that child molestation can cause.  I have held a little one in my arms as they have cried telling me what happened to them over and over again.  It is something that no person should ever have to deal with.  So as everyone says that we should overlook his past indiscretions I ask you have you ever had to deal with it?  Can you look into the face of the children he has hurt and say that?  Walk in their shoes.

A King is Dead

Yesterday at exactly 2:26pm, a King was pronounced dead. Michael Joseph Jackson was only 50 years when he descended up to great big stage in the sky. And yes, I was deeply saddened and still am a little somber deep inside. He wasn't just another musician. He was more than a performer. He was a legend. He not only inspired most of the musicians today, but he was an inspiration to many of his fans.

Life is too short...

Life is too short. I know that this is something that we all know, but death has a way of sneaking up on you.

Married to a Techno Dork

Ok 2 years ago I got my hubby a MP3 player for Christmas.  I pre-loaded it with all of his music, charged it and it was ready to go.  He has never used it till tonight.  For some reason he picked up off of his desk (where it has sat) and it turned on.  He put the headphones on and fell in love with it.  OMG what a dork he is walking around the house and singing really loud but he stops to look at me and then he shakes it and goes "Look it doesn't skip" like its a tape or CD player.  He doesn't say that once but over and over and over again ( like over 50

An Ode to Something Special

I turn at the sound of your music.  Gaze lovingly at your glassy stare.  The chiming melody that rings through the air when you have something new to tell me.

The smoothness of you as I glide a finger across your face.  The dark color.  The fine design of your body.  And all the jealous stares when I walk down the street with you.  It sets my heart racing.  As I know you're mine.  All mine.

From the mouth of Babes

I will begin by saying there is never ever a dull moment in the Green household. With a husband, 4 kids, a dog, and 2 cats I find myself singing along to Old McDonald or on the really "good" days I get that almost eerie circus pipe organ theme in my head. I have 3 daughters and a son who will be 6 in just a few days. He is all boy and loves loves his action figures, super heroes and one of his favorite must watch 3 times a day movies Narnia. We live a rather sheltered life and don't do alot of traveling.

Apron Strings

Is it completely bizarre to be a bit fearful of returning to the workforce? I have been a full time at home mom to my 4 kids for 7 years. With the "cha-ching" hard times we are all facing (and a recent "new engine" quote on a still financed truck) My husband and I both agree its time for me to start clocking in. Kids' schedules will put me back into a graveyard position I am sure. The lack of sleep will be fine since well I don't sleep anyway. I am looking forward to coworkers and all grown up conversations again.

On Pause

Well first I'd like to say- wooooo!  First Geek Drop blog.  *stretches fingers* Here we go.

Well I've had lots of time on my hands over the last few days as some of you may know.  I've been sick, sick, sick and, up until today, hadn't been outside since Saturday.  So, that leaves a person with lots of thinking time.  Well, in my case, lots more thinking time, as I'm constantly thinking this, that, or the other thing.  So this is one of my thoughts ...
